Since we’re in the month of November and being thankful is celebrated both in the US and Canada and because my Y & R PR folks suggested this theme and because I love, love, love Kathryn Jane’s gratitude FB posts she does every Wednesday, I decided to jump on this bandwagon. (Could that sentence be a tad too long? LOL)

Also, I want to do this because I have so much to be thankful for. One of our November Sisters of Suspense blogs is going to be a picture of us with our pets and a paragraph on why we’re thankful for them. Now how fun will that be? You will have to check it out. Here’s a sneak pick of one of two pictures I’ll have in my post. It’s Charley.IMG_1793

I’ve got the cover for ACT OF TRUST and I’m dying to show it to you, but it’s going to show up first on my newsletter which should go out later this month. So if you’ve not signed up for my newsletter, you better do it now. 🙂

My editor has ACT OF TRUST. 🙂

Last Saturday I wrote the first 816 words for

ACT OF BETRAYAL,

Book 3 in The Second Chances Series,  I can tell this book is going to whip my butt! It’s set in Dallas, a city I have visited, but have never lived in. It deals with financial shenanigans! You know how I am with numbers! I’m not sure it will come out in 2016. It may be early 2017. But I started writing it! I’m so thankful. WhooHoo!

I can publish THE THEATRE next year. It’s a stand-alone I wrote several years ago that I didn’t want to bring out right after publishing SECOND ACT. The stories and characters aren’t connected, but the setting is a theatre, so it seemed prudent to separate it some from SA.

We are finally having fall-like weather, and I’m grateful for the fog Monday morning and the high temperatures in the low 70s. FullSizeRender(56) I know some of you are thinking, “What?” But summer drags into September in Texas. We’re just grateful for not hitting the 90s anymore.  Mid to late November is when fall usually arrives. Everything is relative, I guess. 🙂

I’m thankful for a great plumbing company who fixed the leaking pipe and took the time to make sure the water meter hand wasn’t still spinning. They found the problem and fixed it, too. We have a water view at our lakehouse, not a fountain!FullSizeRender(57)

I’m hoping for some leaf colors later this month, but we’ve had a ton of rain, for which I’m grateful, because I believe the drought is over again. (Last May’s deluge ended the drought of several long years, but then came three long months of dryness again and everyone was hurting.) We seem to be experiencing weather extremes more and more. Where is medium? I’m all the more grateful for my friends who post FB pictures of gorgeous leaves. Here are of a couple of mine from years past. photo(15)  photo(10)

I’m grateful to be attending a banquet Sunday, Nov. 8  in Wichita Falls honoring Sigma Kappa members who joined 50 years ago. I’ll share some pics of that in a later blog.

Right after that I leave for Dallas for the National Parents As Teachers Annual Conference. I won’t be there the whole 3 days, but will attend a meeting of the Texas PAT Advisory Board, I’m grateful to be a part of. I’ve written about PAT in past blogs. I’m thankful for this very important program for assisting families, kids and schools.

I’m grateful to be attending the Lewisville Public Library author signing on Thursday Nov. 12. Those of you in the area, I hope will pop in.

So how about you. Share a couple of things your thankful for. Don’t tell me everything because you’ll get a chance every Thursday this month. 🙂 Love to hear from you.
